01 Tube

12AX7

The 12AX7 (ECC83) is a high-mu twin-triode miniature tube ubiquitous in audio circuits, especially in preamps and phono stages. With a high amplification factor (μ=100), it effectively boosts weak signals. It delivers gorgeous, detailed highs, transparent tone, and strong dynamic expression. Different brands offer subtle tonal variations, providing endless tube-rolling fun for vintage and modern audio setups.

211

The 211 is a high-voltage directly heated transmitting triode originally developed for radio-frequency and industrial applications. Widely employed in premium single-ended amplifiers, it is renowned for its exceptional linearity, expansive soundstage, and powerful dynamic capability, delivering high output power while preserving the characteristic tonal refinement of classic DHT designs.

300B

The 300B is a legendary direct-heated triode vacuum tube, hailed as the "Dream Tube" in HiFi audio. Known for ultra-low midrange distortion, incredibly sweet vocals, and ethereal high-frequency extension. In Single-Ended Triode (SET) amplifiers, it delivers stunning micro-dynamics and realism. Despite its modest 8-watt output requiring high-sensitivity speakers, its unmatched tonal charm makes it the pinnacle of analog amplification.

6N11

The 6N11 (6Н11) is a low-noise, high-transconductance dual triode widely used in hi-fi preamplifiers, DAC output stages, and headphone amplifiers. Commonly associated with the 6DJ8, ECC88, and 6922 families, it is valued for its wide bandwidth, excellent linearity, and stable operating characteristics in high-fidelity audio applications.

6N4

The 6N4 is a Chinese-designated, high-mu dual-triode vacuum tube widely used in preamplifier audio circuits. Serving as a direct equivalent to the 12AX7 and ECC83, it provides high voltage gain and low-noise amplification, making it ideal for Hi-Fi audio systems and guitar amplifiers.With an amplification factor of approximately 100, it is commonly employed in input, driver, and tone-control stages of hi-fi and guitar amplifiers.

6N9P

The 6N9P (6Н9С) — A high-mu octal dual triode widely regarded as the Eastern equivalent of the 6SL7GT. Featuring a gain factor of approximately 70, it is commonly used in voltage amplification, phase-inverter, and driver stages for 300B, EL34, and KT88 amplifiers. Although sharing similar characteristics with 6SL7-family tubes, circuit compatibility and operating conditions should always be verified before substitution.

6SN7

The 6SN7 is a classic indirectly heated dual-triode tube, celebrated as the "King of Preamp Tubes." It features low internal resistance, high linearity, and moderate gain. Its sound is natural, with a wide soundstage and rich, airy midrange. Widely used as a driver tube in high-end 300B or 845 SET amps, it provides high-quality signal drive and remains an audiophile favorite.

The 813, commonly known as the FU-13 (ГУ-13) in Chinese and Russian audio communities, is a high-power beam tetrode originally designed for RF transmission and industrial service. Widely employed in single-ended amplifiers, it is valued for its exceptional plate dissipation, robust construction, and powerful dynamic performance.

845

The 845, also known as the FU-845 in Chinese audio communities, is a high-voltage directly heated transmitting triode originally developed for RF applications. Widely employed in premium single-ended amplifiers, it is renowned for its exceptional linearity, expansive soundstage, and powerful dynamic expression, delivering the distinctive musical character of classic DHT designs.

EL34

The EL34 is a classic indirectly heated pentode power tube widely used in HiFi and guitar amplifiers. It is renowned for its full-bodied midrange, sweet vocals, and overall warm tone, making it perfect for pop music. In push-pull circuits, it delivers 30-40 watts, easily driving most bookshelf or floor-standing speakers. It offers a fleshy, musical sound with excellent cost-performance.

FU50

The FU-50 (ГУ-50) is a high-power beam tetrode originally developed for RF transmission and military communication equipment. Widely employed in single-ended and push-pull amplifiers, it is valued for its excellent linearity, robust construction, and dynamic performance. In the DIY audio community, it is sometimes informally referred to as a "poor man's 300B" due to its engaging midrange character and affordability.

02 Transformer

C Core

The C-core is an advanced transformer core made from a continuous strip of cold-rolled oriented silicon steel, cut into two "C" shapes. Its magnetic flux perfectly aligns with the grain, offering higher permeability and lower magnetic loss than standard EI cores. C-core transformers are smaller, highly efficient, and deliver superior low-frequency depth, fast transients, and modern high resolution.

EI Core

The EI Core is the most classic and widely used transformer core, made from alternating "E" and "I" shaped silicon steel laminations. It boasts excellent resistance to DC saturation, making it perfect for single-ended output transformers with air gaps. Audiophiles love EI transformers for their warm, rich, and highly musical midrange, perfectly capturing the traditional "analog tube sound."

03 Amplifier

Class A

Class A operation means the amplifying component conducts current throughout the entire 360-degree audio cycle. It completely eliminates crossover and switching distortion, delivering exceptionally pure, warm sound with pristine high frequencies and ultimate fidelity for micro-signals. The trade-off is extremely low efficiency and high heat, but it remains the holy grail for uncompromising audiophiles.

Class A B

Class AB — A power-amplifier operating mode in which each output device conducts for more than 180° but less than 360° of the input signal cycle. Combining the efficiency of Class B with the lower distortion of Class A, Class AB is widely employed in push-pull tube amplifiers, offering an effective balance between output power, thermal performance, and sonic fidelity.

Class D

Class D — A switching amplifier topology in which the output devices operate primarily in fully on or fully off states, achieving exceptionally high efficiency and low heat dissipation. Widely used in modern audio systems and active speakers, Class D amplifiers deliver substantial output power while maintaining compact size, reduced energy consumption, and excellent overall performance.
