RETURNS POLICY
You may return most new, unopened items within 7 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).
You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days). If you need to return an item, simply login to your account, view the order using the 'Complete Orders' link under the My Account menu and click the Return Item(s) button. We'll notify you via e-mail of your refund once we've received and processed the returned item.

The FU-50 is a remarkable transmitting tube. Its compact size and modest 40W power consumption are particularly impressive. While it's primarily known for its use in meter-wave transmitters, making it unfamiliar to many tube amplifier enthusiasts, audiophiles have long appreciated its exceptional sound quality in hi-fi amplifiers. This has earned it a stellar reputation and the nickname "otherworldly". The FU-50 is a Chinese model, corresponding to the P50/2 in Europe and the United States.
Unique Pentode Design
Typically, pentode tubes are lauded for their superior sound quality over beam power tetrodes (quadrupoles), with classic examples being the 6P14 outshining the 6P1, and the EL34 outperforming the 6L6. However, traditional pentodes suffer from a higher screen grid current, which reduces circuit efficiency. The FU-50 stands apart by being a beam pentode. It features a screen grid structure similar to a beam power tetrode, giving it the sonic characteristics of a pentode but with a significantly lower screen grid current—comparable to that of a beam power tetrode. This unique design allows the FU-50 to deliver both excellent sound quality and high efficiency.
Furthermore, the FU-50 uses an oxide cathode, enabling a high anode emission current and low filament power. With an anode voltage tolerance of up to 1000V, it's a top-tier choice for amplifier applications.
Audio Performance
The FU-50's audio performance is exceptional. Its high frequencies are outstanding, delivering clarity and brightness, while the midrange is resonant and mellow. The bass, for instance, provides an immersive experience, making the drum strikes in Hugo's "Small Knife Society Overture" particularly impactful.
Key Features of the Amplifier
1. Premium Components: The amplifier features a precise pairing of tubes: two Shuguang 6J8Ps and two Beijing FU-50s. Power rectification is handled by a Linlai 5U4G, and filtering is managed by Korean SAMYOUNG electrolytic capacitors. Combined with high-power metal oxide film resistors and an optional 5H0.2A choke, the multi-stage CRC network effectively suppresses AC noise. Upgrading the preamp tubes from the 6J8Ps to XD 717A tubes can further enhance performance.
2. Sound and Construction: Coupling and cathode capacitors are high-quality Hong Kong TE MKP film capacitors, contributing to a rich, mellow sound with delicate, non-fatiguing high frequencies. All five resistors in the amplifier are precision metal film resistors, chosen for their lower thermal noise compared to standard carbon film resistors. The tube sockets are copper-plated silver, and the PCB is a double-sided, high-strength copper-clad board with trace sizes optimized for the circuit's needs, preventing current bottlenecks. A single-point grounding design and excellent layout on the circuit board effectively eliminate the audible hum often found in PCB-based amplifiers.
3. Output Power: The rated output power is 12W + 12W. Due to the robust overload capacity of vacuum tubes, the actual undistorted output power is comparable to a 70W + 70W solid-state amplifier!
4. Dynamic Sound Profile: The amplifier's sound is often described as gentle, but this doesn't mean it lacks dynamics or speed. It flawlessly reproduces the fast tempos of symphonies and the intense rhythms of modern music without becoming noisy. The result is a vibrant and "refreshing" sound. Compared to a 300B single-ended Class A tube amplifier, the FU-50 offers a livelier, more energetic sound with greater power, effectively compensating for the 300B's limitations.
5. Dual-Mode Operation: The amplifier board features a dual-mode design, allowing users to switch between modes using two toggle switches. For safety, the power must be turned off before switching.
A). Ultra linear Tube Mode: This mode offers a dynamic, powerful, and slightly faster sound, making it ideal for symphonic music.
B). Triode Mode: This mode provides a delicate and melodious sound, perfect for listening to vocals.
Please note: when you select mode, all the left and right shall be one mode, don't mix them.
